In early 2020 the corona virus/Covid 19 appeared and spread throughout the world. As a result of the ensuing lockdowns and quarantines, most of our NA meeting places throughout the world were closed, shut down and no longer available for us to gather. For the great majority of our members, Narcotics Anonymous meeting attendance came to an abrupt standstill. We were home and many of us alone.

Narcotics Anonymous members now faced a dilemma. “I need a meeting", they said. Some of our members knew there were a number of Narcotics Anonymous meetings already running on online platforms and had been for awhile now, even before the pandemic.

These online Narcotics Anonymous meetings were few and far between. A couple of our members decided it was time to start a new Narcotics Anonymous meeting online. A Narcotics Anonymous meeting online that would be made available to members throughout the world, at all times of the day and night and all time zones. An actual online, 24/7 Narcotics Anonymous marathon meeting!

On Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 10pm Pacific time in the USA, The International Online Marathon Meeting of Narcotics Anonymous had it's first meeting and it has been going strong 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since.

We are grateful to be of service to the Narcotics Anonymous fellowship during these trying times, then and now. We appreciate all those who support this meeting and for the tireless service that the trusted servants from all over the world have provided. Most of all, we are thankful that members from all around the world are staying clean during the quarantine.
